2024 Occhipinti Il Frappato Terre Siciliane

Arianna Occhipinti makes pure, expressive wines from native Sicilian grapes around Vittoria, farming organically and biodynamically with a clear focus on freshness, energy, and a sense of place. Il Frappato is her most personal wines. It’s light, vibrant, and true to the sandy limestone soils of the region.

The 2024 has a beautiful, transparent, bright, ruby red color while you swirl it in the glass. Aromas of crunchy cherry, wild strawberry, redcurrant, pomegranate, rose, violet, orange zest, with just a touch of pink pepper and earth. The palate is juicy, agile, and energetic, with bright acidity and floral finish.

It comes from older vines, approximately 35–40 years old, is fermented with native yeasts and a long maceration in concrete, then aged partly in large Slavonian or Austrian oak before being bottled unfiltered.
