Radikon Sivi Pinot Grigio 2022

100% Pinot Grigio, this wine is a refined extension of Stanko Radikon’s original 500ml line, now bottled in 750ml by his son, Sasa. Though still an "orange" wine, it is less intensely so due to a shorter maceration period of just 10-14 days (compared to the 3 months for the 500ml bottlings). Made using natural yeasts, the Pinot Grigio undergoes fermentation in oak vats without temperature control or sulfur. After a gentle pressing, the wine is aged on its lees for 18 months in 3500-liter Slavonian oak barrels, then bottled without filtration and with minimal sulfur. The wine, called "Sivi" (meaning "gray" in Slovenian), is named for the grayish-pink hue of the grape's skin, which became prominent starting with the 2016 vintage.
