Occhipinti 'SP68' Terre Siciliane IGT Rosso 2023

A blend of 70% Frappato and 30% Nero d'Avola, this wine hails from certified-organic vines, over 20 years old, rooted in chalky, sandy soils. Hand-harvested and destemmed, the grapes undergo spontaneous co-fermentation with native yeasts in concrete tanks. The wine macerates for roughly two weeks before aging in concrete for six months, and it is bottled unfiltered, with minimal sulfur added. Named "SP68" after the Strada Provinciale 68, the country road that runs past the Occhipinti estate, this wine embodies the spirit of its Sicilian terroir.
