Marengo Barolo 2018

Marengo, one of the smallest estates in La Morra, boasts vineyards in the esteemed "Brunate" cru, a prime parcel recognized as one of Langhe's grand crus. The vines Marengo cultivates here are nearly 80 years old. The vineyard features a mix of clay and silt soil with a southern exposure. Harvest takes place in September or October, depending on the vintage. The wine undergoes natural alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, followed by 24 months in French barrique. After an additional six months of aging in the bottle, the Marengo Barolo Brunate is ready. Expect aromas of fruit, black cherry, and spices. This full-bodied wine has silky yet persistent tannins, making it an excellent pairing with meat and cheese.
