The 2018 Les St. Georges from Domaine Gouges is also superb, with the depth, power and structure of the very best wines of the commune in 2018, coupled to great purity and early complexity. The bouquet delivers a refined blend of black plums, sweet dark berries, woodsmoke, gamebird, a touch of balsam bough, bitter chocolate and a very complex base of minerality. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and shows off a stunning core, with firm, ripe tannins, stunning backend mineral drive and a very, very long and complex finish. This will take a long time in the cellar to blossom, but in time, it will be pure magic!
