2022 Ochota Barrels Fugazi Grenache

Ochota Barrels is a cult, low-intervention Australian producer, known for expressive, music inspired single vineyard wines made with minimal additions.

This 100% Grenache offers a fragrant thread of wild herbs, raspberry and violets. The mid-palate delivers mouth-watering red berry intensity with finely grained tannins and a long, succulent, savory finish.

The vineyard, planted 1947 is named after the post-hardcore punk band Fugazi; the wine comes from 75 year old dry grown bush vines on ironstone and gravel-infused red clay in Blewitt Springs and is made with 50% whole clusters, native yeast and just six months in seasoned French barriques before unfined, unfiltered bottling.
