2022 Domaine Guiberteau Brézé Saumur

Romain Guiberteau has become one of the Loire’s most respected voices for Chenin Blanc, farming organically and focusing on the legendary Brézé hillside. His wines from this site are widely regarded as among the purest and most age worthy expressions of dry Chenin in the region.

The 2022 Brézé is pale straw with greenish gold highlights. It opens with fresh pear, white peach, quince, beeswax and acacia, underpinned by chalk, flint and wet stone. On the palate it is dry, tightly structured and concentrated, with vibrant acidity, a creamy yet precise texture, citrus and green apple notes. Finishing with a long, saline, mineral driven finish. There is real tension and depth, a serious, driven white with the structure to evolve beautifully for a decade or more.
