2020 Vega Sicilia Valbuena 5°

Vega Sicilia has been refining the same vision for over a century. Creating wines of depth, elegance, and extraordinary aging potential from their estate in Ribera del Duero. Valbuena 5° is their more approachable expression of that philosophy. Still serious and long lived, but designed to show the character of the vintage a little earlier than Único.

The 2020 is a more graceful and elegant vintage, shaped by rain before harvest. It shows notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, red cherry, iron, cedar, minerals, cocoa, balsamic herbs, and just a touch of violet. The palate is medium to full bodied with fine, good freshness, and polished finish.

It is named “5°” because it spends a total of five years aging in barrel, large oak vats, and bottle before release.
