2018 Fontodi Vigna del Sorbo Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

Owner and visionary Giovanni Manetti has spent a lifetime refining what pure Sangiovese can be. Fontodi is organically farmed with quiet conviction, and Vigna del Sorbo is the single vineyard that has always been closest to his heart.  A southwest facing slope of older vines that consistently delivers the most complete expression of the estate.

It opens with bright floral and spice notes over a core of red cherry and dark red fruit, with subtle tobacco, cedar, and a whisper of mahogany. Palate… it is seamless and polished, with creamy tannins, beautiful balance, and a long, persistent finish that feels both refined and quietly powerful. It has the structure to age for decades, yet already shows remarkable drinkability.
